Filerimos, a trip back to the ancient cultures.

Filerimos is a hill located on the Greek island of Rhodes in the Aegean Sea. It is known for its historical significance and the presence of various cultural and archaeological attractions.
It is only 9km far from the center of Rhodes, wich makes it easily accesable by car/motorbike.

At the top of Filerimos Hill, there is a monastery called the Monastery of Filerimos, which dates back to the Byzantine era. The monastery was built on the site where an ancient temple of Athena once stood. Visitors can explore the monastery and its surrounding area, which offers panoramic views of the island. They also come closer to nature while, very likely, bumping into bevies of peackcoks.

One of the main attractions at Filerimos is the imposing cross, known as the Cross of Filerimos or the Golgotha, which stands tall at the peak of the hill. This cross serves as a symbol of the island and can be seen from various parts of Rhodes.

Filerimos is a popular tourist destination due to its historical and cultural significance, as well as its natural beauty. Visitors can enjoy a combination of ancient ruins, religious sites, and breathtaking views while exploring this hill on the island of Rhodes.
